Bengengie 18th December

Took advantage of a spell of pre Christmas mild weather
and climbed Midcairn and Bengengie - not a soul in site and a truly peaceful day.

The week before I did the circular walk I climbed Ben Ever but came back down the same way as the clouds descended and I couldn't see . This is the Nebit as seen from the climb up Ben Ever

The adventure starts

One of my projects for retirement is to get to know the Ochil Hills in Central Scotland. There are a total of 144 hills and over time I intend climbing them all .

There are 7 Donald's ( apparently hills over 2000 feet in Central Scotland) and I will start with them first.

In early December and starting at Alva  I climbed Ben Ever and walked across to Ben Cleuch and down the Law to Tillicoultry , walking back to Alva. The day was stunning with a fall of snow a couple of days before - Ben Ever was clear but this picture shows the snow on top of Ben Cleuch as I walked to the top
